Garden City face-off/midfielder Kyle Steinbach has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Maryland.

What will you major in/study? Business

Why did you choose school? “The minute I stepped onto the Maryland campus I knew it was where I wanted to go: for the highly ranked business school, the great alumni and the Maryland lacrosse tradition. The entire Maryland coaching staff made me feel right at home.”

Thoughts on your HS team’s 2016 season? “Heading into my Sophomore year I plan on contributing my talents to help Garden City maintain its great lacrosse tradition.”

My parents for all their support in helping me pursue my dream of playing D1 lacrosse; my high school coaches, Steve Finnell and Joe Jacovina, for guiding me through the process and helping me every step of the way; my shooting coach, John Savage, and face-off coach, Matt Schomburg, who have helped me become the player I am today. Finally I want to thank Maryland Head Coach John Tillman and his entire staff for giving me this great opportunity. I’m excited to be part of the Maryland lacrosse family.
