Garden City High School 2015 attack-midfielder Liam Byrnes has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Gettysburg College.

Liam Byrnes

High School: Garden City High School

Graduation Year: 2015

Position: Attack-Midfielder

College Choice: Gettysburg

Club Affiliation: Long Island Express

Major lacrosse honors: Nike Jake Reed Blue Chip and Philly Showcase All-Star

What will you major in/study? Business

Why did you choose Gettysburg? “The combination of great academics and location close to home were huge factors in my decision. Also, the school is close to my brother who will be attending Villanova in the Fall to play Lacrosse.”

Thoughts on this past HS lacrosse season/outlook for next season? “I thought we had a great regular season and just fell short to a great program in Manhasset. We will be losing a group of seniors who will be very hard to replace, but we also have the pieces to be very successful once again.”

Thank You: “I would like to thank my parents and siblings Conor and Kieran (’14) and Aidan (’18) for always being supportive and making me better. Also, my coaches at Garden City High School in Coach Finnell and Coach Flatley for making me a better player and more importantly a better person.”

Other schools considered: St. Joes and Trinity, Bucknell
