Center Moriches High School rising sophomore attackman Nicholas Brode has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Boston University. Brode is transferring to Millbrook School (N.Y.) for the 2014-15 year.

Major lacrosse honors, camps and showcases: Starter on Center Moriches Varsity Team since 8th Grade,Brine National Lacrosse Middle School All-Star North Team, Jake Reed Nike Blue Chip Rising Freshman, Philly Freshman Showcase, National Fall Select 175. Also will be attending this year Brine National Lacrosse 2017 High School Team, Jake Reed Rising Sophmore, Fab Frosh Showcase.

What will you major in/study? Business & Finance

Why did you choose school? “The great academic reputation of Boston University. BU’s location gave me the feel of being home. Coach (Ryan) Polley and his coaching staff made me feel like I was already part of the team and the opportunity to grow with this new program is exciting.”

Outlook for 2015 season? “I will be attending Millbrook Preparatory in the Fall. I am anxious and nervous because I will be playing for new coaches and with new teammates.”

Other comments: “Most of all I would like to thank my parents for their dedication and never ending support; Kevin Scott, my Varsity Coach for having the confidence to pull me up to Varsity in 8th and a ‘Grade A’ big thank you for always believing in me’ Jim Mule, my club Coach of Team 91 Orange, for giving me the opportunity to play for him. Playing for him has helped me become the lacrosse player I am today.”
