Kaeli Huff

High School: Eastport South Manor

Graduation Year: 2016

Position: Midfield

College Choice: USC

Club Affiliation: Long Island Yellow Jackets

Major lacrosse honors: Suffolk County Champions two years in a row, All-Division, Schoolgirls LI Metro 2013, U15 Silver Medalist, Syracuse Nike Elite Champions, Northern Rise Champions, President’s Cup 2013

Academic Honors: National Junior Honor Society, Principal Honor Roll all quarters

What will you major in/study? “I can definitely see myself working with children, but I’m just not sure in what way yet.”

Why did you choose USC? “When I first heard USC was starting a lacrosse program and Coach (Lindsey) Munday was going to be the head coach I was interested immediately. Having Coach Munday, Coach (Devon) Wills and Coach (Hilary) Bowen as coaches is incredible and I’m excited to be a part of the team out there. That, and the strong academics and tradition of the school made the decision pretty easy for me. As soon as I stepped on campus and met the coaches I knew that was where I wanted to be.”

What is your team’s outlook for next season? “ESM’s outlook for next season is to not only defend our County Championship title, but win the Long Island Championship this year. We’ve been there twice already, but not with results we’d like to see. This season we’d like to change that and become Long Island champions and then of course State champs!”

Thank You: “I’d first like to thank my parents for always supporting me and taking me to and from practices and tournaments. I would like to thank Coach Thorn for always believing in me and pushing me. And a huge thank you to Carol Rose and the Yellow Jackets and my entire Yellow Jacket team!”
