Why did you choose the school? “I chose Yale because it has a perfect combination of excellent academics and great lacrosse. Coach (Andy) Shay, (Graham) Niemi, (Andrew) Baxter and (Andrew) Stimmel run a program built on leadership, excellence and hard work. I look forward to learning more about the game and progressing as a player with their help in the next four years.”
What is your team’s outlook for next season? “I believe we are going to have a strong season this spring. Bronxville has 10 college commits, nine in Division I, which will definitely be a driving force behind our success this year. Also, Coach Horgan does a great job of finding tough opponents to help us get better as a team.”
Other comments: “I would like to thank my family first and foremost, who have supported me throughout this process and traveled with me to countless tournaments over the years. My mom and dad have taken stats and filmed thousands of face-offs in the last two years.
“Thank to Ken Miller, my club coach, who gave me invaluable insight into the recruiting process and pushed me to develop as a player. I can’t thank him enough for believing in my potential.
“Thanks to Matt Schomburg of FogoLax, who taught me the technical skills to become the face-off man I am today. He pushed me to work hard and get better every day.
“Thanks to Tim Horgan, my varsity coach, who built Bronxville’s program to be one that is recognized and respected well beyond the state of New York; Danny James, my youth coach, for developing my love of the game; Peter Vlahakis, for a solid face-off foundation; Ricky Buhr for tough workouts and encouragement this last year; Andrew Walsh, a friend and former teammate; and the Walsh family for their support and encouragement along the way.
Other schools considered? “I seriously considered and visited Dartmouth, Brown, Middlebury, Amherst, and Washington and Lee.”
