From Press Release

The Lock Haven University lacrosse team has announced its recruiting class for the 2013-14 year.

The Lady Eagles will welcome six prospective student-athletes to The Haven this fall.

LHU graduated two seniors from this year’s squad that went 15-3 overall, a perfect 11-0 in conference play and reached the NCAA Quarterfinals.

“I’m very excited to get back on the field this fall,” said head coach Kristen Selvage. “This is a very talented group of freshmen that will add great depth and skill to our program. They fit our team philosophy perfectly and will make a great impact on the program for years to come.”

2013 recruits with comments from coach Selvage:

Shannon Nolan – (Northport, N.Y./Northport)

Position – Defense
Major at LHU – Dual major in Education and Pre-Kindergarten to fourth and Special Education
Shannon is a hardworking, dedicated player who we are excited to bring into our defensive unit. She is coachable, comes from a top notch program and has the work ethic to learn our Haven-style defense. Shannon buys into our program’s family philosophy and we can’t wait to get started with her.

Katie McDonough – (Connetquot, N.Y./ Connetquot)
Position – Defense
Major at LHU – Pre-Physical Therapy
Katie is a is quick, aggressive and feisty player. She immediately got our attention and showed us that she can play both offense and defense for us. We see her coming in and contributing primarily on defense, but we are excited about her versatility. Katie is a smart player, who is not afraid to communicate and has a sense and understanding of different types of defense.

Shannon Bissnette – (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford)
Position – Attack
Major at LHU – Business
Shannon is a great crease attacker and has terrific vision. She is a very hard worker and demands a lot from herself. We cannot wait to have her here in the fall to see what she will add to our attack lineup. I expect her shooting, speed, re-defend and dodging will all come in handy on our attack.

Emily Brunie – (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley)
Position – Attack
Major at LHU – Elementary Education
Emily is an energizer bunny, she is fast, tenacious, works hard on the ride, has quick dodges and can take it straight to the cage. We have also been tremendously impressed with Emily’s ability to feed the ball. With 44 goals and 73 assists in her senior season, we are confident that she can aid in our campaign to get to a title game.

Sara Hanley – (Millstone, N.J./Allentown)
Position – Attack
Major at LHU – Biology
Sara has improved tremendously throughout the last couple of years. We believe that Sara can contribute on offense, defense and at the midfield. She is quick and ambidextrous with a lethal shot. Sara is fast and aggressive, persistent and has great endurance.

Morgan Bare – (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield)
Position – Goalie
Major at LHU – Biology
We are incredibly excited about adding Morgan to our squad. Morgan was a Lancaster League All Star, First team All Star in the league and shows tremendous prowess in the net. Morgan is a dedicated goalkeeper, hard worker and a quick study. With her work ethic and positive attitude, she will fit right into our lax family here at The Hav
