Boys’ recruit: Garden City 2014 midfielder McLaughlin commits to Scranton

Garden City High School rising senior midfielder Brendan McLaughlin has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Scranton University.

College Choice: University of Scranton

Club Affiliation: Long Island Outlaws 2014

Major lacrosse honors, camps and showcases: Top 205, Top 175, Lehigh Laxfest, NYLA Showcase, UNC Select Rising Freshman and Sophomore Camps 2011 and 2012

What will you major in/study? Undecided

Why did you choose Scranton? “I chose Scranton because I really like the school, its location and the opportunity to play lacrosse as an underclassman. I felt very comfortable with Coach (Doug) Sage and the school in general.”

Outlook for your High School team next season? “We are defending back to back NY State Champions, we return many very good players and should be able to compete next year in tough league and non league schedules.”
