Hofstra University freshman attack Emily Considine was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week today, it was announced by the conference office.
It is Considine’s second rookie of the week honor from the conference this season as she previously earned the award on February 18. In total, Hofstra has won three rookie of the week awards this season as freshman attack/midfield Becky Conto picked up the award on March 25.
Considine picked up her second CAA Rookie of the Week award of the season after netting a hat trick in Hofstra’s narrow 11-10 loss in overtime to Ohio State on Saturday. Considine continued her strong rookie campaign for the Pride with her fifth multi-goal game of the season while also adding a ground ball.
The Rockville Centre, New York native ranks second on the team this season with 17 points on 14 goals and three assists to go along with 12 ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Hofstra (6-4, 0-0 CAA) returns to action on Friday when it opens conference play at Old Dominion with a 7 p.m. contest.
