The Hofstra University Department of Athletics and the Hofstra Men’s Lacrosse program are excited to announce a collaboration with Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) that will take place during the Pride’s April 13 game against North Carolina.
Fans that purchase a ticket in advance of the highly-anticipated contest between the two programs both currently ranked nationally will have the opportunity to support WWP.
“We are thrilled to work with Wounded Warrior Project for such an exciting day of lacrosse at Hofstra University,” commented Hofstra University Vice President and Director of Athletics Jeffrey A. Hathaway. “Wounded Warrior Project is such an important organization and one that we are excited to support. We look forward to fans of Hofstra Lacrosse, and lacrosse fans in general, supporting Wounded Warrior Project while enjoying a great game between two nationally-ranked squads. On behalf of the Hofstra Community, we want to thank all the men and women who have served in the armed forces, both past and present, along with those family members and friends that support them.”
Opening face-off between Hofstra and the Tar Heels is scheduled for 7 p.m., and the game is presented by Capital One Bank.
Fans that make a donation to benefit WWP will receive a free Hofstra Pride camouflage t-shirt, courtesy of Capital One Bank. Hofstra University is also excited and proud to offer all WWP Alumni and their families complimentary tickets to attend the game.
In addition to all the great Wounded Warrior activities, there will be a pre-game Fan Fest presented by Capital One Bank on the grass fields outside of Margiotta Hall. The event will start at 5:30 p.m. and will feature live music by Slingshot, Long Island’s premiere cover band, as well as the Hofstra Bounce House, a free photo booth for fans, camouflage eye black giveaways, a Lackmann beverage tent, the New York Lizards fastest shot inflatable and giveaways.
