Boys’ recruit: Hofstra gets commitment from St. Augustine Prep (NJ) sophomore midfielder Kitchen

St. Augustine Prep (NJ) sophomore midfielder James Kitchen has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Hofstra University.

Major lacrosse honors: Rider MVP champions, Terrapin Classic, Uplax, Philly Team Invitational, Crab City Challenge, Univ. Of Delaware Invitational

Academic honors, service projects: Dean’s List, Habitat for Humanity, Camden Soup Kitchen, Laxers 4Life, HEADstrong Foundation

What will you major in/study? Pre-Medical studies, Orthodontistry or Orthopedics

Why did you choose Hofstra? “I chose Hofstra because its a great school with a great lacrosse program.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “Our schedule is very challenging which will prepare us to compete at the highest level in preparation for playoffs. We have a great group of players and a great coach. We look forward to our shot at the State Championship.”

Additional comments: “I would like to thank my parents for supporting me in everything that I do. I would like to thank my coach JC Valore for helping me become the best player I can be. I look forward to attending Hofstra University.”
