Girls’ recruit: Manhasset sophomore midfield Quinn commits to Northwestern

Manhasset sophomore midfield Claire Quinn has made a commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Northwestern University.

College Choice: Northwestern

Club Affiliation: Long Island Elite Yellow Jackets

Major lacrosse honors: U15 2011 Champion; U15 #1 2012 Seed

What will you major in/study? Studio Art

Why did you choose Northwestern? “Northwestern is an outstanding academic university with a creative art program that is one of the best in the country. The lacrosse program is the nation’s best and I can’t wait to become a Wildcat!”

Outlook for your High School team? “Manhasset has a strong Varsity program with many talented players. I hope that I can contribute and help win a County title and maybe something more.”

Additional Comments: “I want to thank Coach Rose at the Yellow Jackets for always believing in me and Coach Pete Mitchell for teaching me defense. Coach Joe Leighton and trainer Jen Jarvis have also developed my stick skills in many ways. I also am grateful to all of the coaches in Manhasset who make this a special place for lacrosse.”
