Farmingdale senior midfield-attackman Brendan Gaghan has made a commitment to play Division II lacrosse at Coker College.

Club Affiliations: Be the Best Lacrosse Club; Farmingdale Lacrosse Club

Major lacrosse honors: Hotbeds, Tri-State, Beantown Classic

Academic Honors: NYS Scholar Athlete 2010, 2011 and 2012 for Cross Country and Lacrosse; Varsity Leaders Club; Key Club; DECA

What will you major in/study? Physical Education/Sports Management

Why did you choose Coker? “I chose Coker because I felt the academics and the lacrosse program were the perfect fit for me. After meeting Coach (Tony) Smith, I knew that his vision was one that I had to be part of in the future.”

Outlook for your high school team? “We are excited to get back on the field for the 2013 season. Our team goal is to win another County and NYS Championship.”

Additional Comments: “I would like to thank my parents who were by my side every step of the way in making my decision. I would also like to thank my Be the Best travel Coach Steve Leghart and all the Farmingdale HS coaches for guiding me in the right direction on and off the field. Lastly, I would like to thank Coach Tony Smith for making me feel right at home and giving me the opportunity to play collegiate lacrosse at Coker.”
