LIU Brooklyn head coach Allison Nuzzi has announced the addition of assistant coach Jaclyn Pandolf (Hofstra, Sachem North) to the women’s lacrosse coaching staff. Pandolf joins Nuzzi and graduate assistant Julia Braun. Pandolf comes to LIU after a four-year career at Hofstra Univeristy, where she played under Nuzzi.
“Jackie Pandolf is a tremendous competitor,” Nuzzi said. “In my time as a coach, I have not known anyone else who has put in as much extra time to bettering herself as a player. She will bring a wealth of knowledge to this Blackbirds squad. I look forward to watching her grow as a coach and use her experience to help this team win.”
A four-year goalie at Hofstra, Pandolf served as team captain her senior year. In 2012, Pandolf was given the Hofstra University Outstanding Senior Award, and was a two-year member of the Women’s Lacrosse Leadership Council for the Pride. Two times in her career, she was ranked in the top 10 in the NCAA in Save Percentage and Saves Per Game.
She was selected to the CAA Championship All-Tournament Team in 2010 and 2012, and was named to the honorable mention Preseason All-CAA Team her senior season. Pandolf’s sophomore year, Hofstra was ranked as high as #14 in the nation, and the team finished the year ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division I for team grade point average.
Her 387 career saves ranks fifth all-time at Hofstra, and her 136 career ground balls is fourth all-time. Pandolf recorded 55 ground balls in 2012, tied for the fifth-most in a single season in program history.
Pandolf has also served as coach of the Long Island Top Guns Premiere Lacrosse Club since 2009, and brings extensive camp and private training experience to the staff.
A multiple CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award recipient, Pandolf graduated in May of 2012 with a degree in community health.
