Boys’ recruit: St. John the Baptist senior midfielder Turri commits to Sacred Heart

St. John the Baptist senior midfielder Christian Joseph Turri has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Sacred Heart University.

Position: Midfield

College Choice: Sacred Heart

Major lacrosse honors: National Invitational 175, Under Armour tryouts

Academic honors, service projects: Magna Cum Laude Honor Roll, National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, AP Scholar, Advanced Regents, St. Josephs youth ministry

What will you major in/study? Political Science

Why did you choose Sacred Heart? “When I visited I really loved the campus, the coaches and the players on the lacrosse team. Sacred Heart is a great University for me to further my education as well as my lacrosse career.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “We have 7 returning starters from a solid squad last year. We are hoping to have another good season and make a name for St. John the Baptist in the Catholic League.”

Other schools considered: Holy Cross, Mercer, Clemson and Richmond
