Boys’ recruit: Manhasset senior midfielder Clarke commits to Boston University

Manhasset senior midfielder James Clarke has committed to play Division I lacrosse at Boston University.

Major lacrosse honors: All-Conference player 2012, Nike Blue Chip Rising Sophomore, Nike Blue Chip Rising Junior & Loyola University Rising Junior Shootout

Academic Honors: Honor Roll Student Athlete, Advanced Placement Student Athlete, Academic All-Conference 2012

What will you major in/study? “I plan to attend The School of Management at Boston University and major in Finance.”

Why did you choose BU? “Many factors influenced my decision; but primary in my selection criteria was a strong balance between academics & athletics and I feel that Boston University is a great match. Boston University has an outstanding academic reputation and the opportunity to be part of building an elite program with Coach (Ryan) Polley & Coach (Drew) Kelleher is a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “I feel that we have a lot to prove this year.

“Playing for Manhasset High School means you will play a strong schedule and always have a target on your back as we will get everyone’s “A” game.

“We will need to come together as a team and understand & implement Coach Cherry & Coach Miller’s game plan to be a championship caliber team. We have to improve individually as well and we are making sure each one of us is in the weight room. We hope to travel down the road to a State Title.”
