Boys’ recruit: Manhasset junior midfielder Young commits to Furman

Manhasset junior midfielder Liam Young has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Furman University.

Club affiliation: LI Sting

Academic honors: Honor roll- 4 years, Scholar Athlete Award

What will you major in/study? Business

Why did you choose Furman? “Visiting the Furman campus blew me away. When I learned about their strong academic program and to have the opportunity to play for Coach (Richie) Meade, I knew it was the right school for me.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “We have many returning seniors and players who are used to playing at the varsity level. I believe we can fulfill our goal of winning a State Championship.”

Other schools considered: Navy, Holy Cross, Binghamton, Franklin and Marshall, and Hamilton.
