The camp, directed by 1998 Ward Melville graduate and two-time Syracuse All-American Liam Banks, runs from 9:30-3 p.m.

Other instructors include John Banks (Ward Melville/John Hopkins), Kevin Banks (Ward Melville/Hobart), Chip Mayer (Ward Melville/UNC), Matt Grosso (Ward Melville/Brown), Justin White (Ward Melville/ Dowling), Pat Perritt (Sachem/Syracuse), Mark Duncan (Ward Melville/Lehigh), as well as girls’ instructors Kerry Kilkenny (Ward Melville/Gettysburg) and Christy Zummo (Ward Melville/Vermont).

“My dad knew a lot of the guys from when he played,” said Connor Grippe, son of ward Melville standout Glenn Grippe of the famous FOG line, at last year’s camp. “They know so much and I get a different perspective. They taught us a lot; how to set a pick close to the crease and how to shoot going toward the goal rather than fading away.”

The camp features instruction in all areas of lacrosse.

“They taught me how to stop a bounce shot,” said goalie Ryan Cassidy, an 11-year-old 7th grader at Gelines, at last year’s camp. “I also learned how to be aggressive and how to call out picks for my defenders when the ball is in front of me. It’s great how everyone here was an All-American in college. That really inspired us all.”
