Huntington rising senior goalie T.J. Greenhill has committed to play Division I lacrosse at Rutgers University.
T.J. Greenhill log:
High School: Huntington High School
Graduation Year: 2013
Position: Goalie
College choice: Rutgers University
Club Affiliation: For the Love of the Game
Major lacrosse honors: All-County, All-Division First-Team, Rising Sophomore Suffolk County Team, King of the Hill All-Star, MVP Tournament All-Star, Maverik Showtime Camp
What will you major in/study? Athletic Training
Why did you choose Rutgers? “Rutgers has always been a school that I would love to play for. After I had heard that Coach (Brian) Brecht took the head coaching job at Rutgers, I really took interest. Rutgers is a perfect fit for me academically and athletically. Both Coach Brecht and Coach (Keith) Cromwell really made it easy for my family and me to decide on the school.”
Outlook for your high school team next season? “We look to repeat a Division Championship for the third year in a row and hopefully get to a Suffolk County Championship.
“We lost many senior starters to graduation, but we have many strong players in my grade. Rising seniors Patrick Reilly, Chris Schoen and Josh Long look to be the leading offensive scorers while Rising Seniors Connor McCartney and I will lead the defense to what will hopefully be a great senior season.”
Additional Comments: “I would like to thank my parents for continuously supporting me through this process and my high school coach Paul McDermott for his help. Also, I would like to thank my club team coaches Mike Hungerford and Robert Coscia for their support as well.”
