While the game was pushed back nearly two hours as the Vail Valley experienced some Thunderstorms in the afternoon, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes was able to shake off a slow start that and a 2-0 deficit to defeat Adrenaline Tropics 9-4 to advance to the Semi Finals of the Vail Lacrosse Shootout Friday. FCA experienced great face-off play from Ryan Matthews (Manhasset, NY) and stellar goalie play from Tyler Avallone (Chester, NJ) as well as Luke Aaron (Great Falls, VA.)

While Adrenaline was able to pull out to a 2-0 lead FCA was able to stay composed and climb back in the game, deadlocking it at two and then again leading into halftime knotted at 3-3. Henry Blynn (Villanova, PA) and Patrick Kelly (Lutherville, MD) lead the comeback and helped pushing FCA ahead for good.

Off the field today, all the boys were able to sleep in a little and when they finally got up to eat brunch they were pleasantly surprised by the culinary expertise of Bobby Duvnjak (Manhasset, NY) and Thomas Wood (Dallas, TX) who both went all out as Duvnjak led the charge, cooking omelettes and Wood manned the pancake station. Later on we went to the local grocery store to let the boys pick out steaks to grill for dinner tonight as we come together once again for a family dinner.

Today FCA will be taking on the Laxachusetts team out of Massachusetts in the semifinals with a 1:00 PM face-off.
