Philip Boukas log:

Philip Boukas

High School: Manhasset

Graduation Year: 2013

Position: Defenseman

College Choice:

Club Affiliation: LI Express Orange, LI Raiders

Major lacrosse honors: Two-time national champion (U-17) for Federation of Christian Athletes, All-Tournament at National Championships; Nike Blue Chip Rising sophomore, junior; Maverik Showtime, Blue Chip 225 All-Star selection.

What will you major in/study? Finance

Why did you choose the school? “The main reason is (Fairfield head coach) Andrew Copelan. You can go to any camp you want and have the coach take you around for 30 minutes, but at the end of the day it’s the real coach that you like. Also, Fairfield is putting good scholarship money into their athletes and it’s a great academic fit for me.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next season?
“We definitely want to get back on track to a state title.”

Other comments: “I want to thank my older brothers. When I was growing up I always thought I’d have a baseball mitt in my hands. They pursued lacrosse and I wanted to pursue what they did so I played lacrosse.”
