Lehigh men’s lacrosse goalie Matt Poillon (Mr. Sinai) was named the nation’s top freshman in Inside Lacrosse’s Final Freshmen Rankings. Poillon, who also earned the top spot in the early-season rankings, finished second nationally in goals against average (6.75) and fourth in save percentage (59.7). He tied a career-high 16 saves in the NCAA Tournament vs. Maryland, stopping all six third-quarter shots sent his way.

The honorable mention All-American and Patriot League Goalie of the Year garnered six Patriot League weekly awards – Goalie of the Week four times and Rookie of the Week twice – while also earning Cascade National Rookie of the Week on two occasions.

Poillon made double-digit saves nine times, including each of his last two contests.
