Long Island girls’ lacrosse came to a close after an exciting weekend of the State semifinals and finals.
Bay Shore’s (19-2) run came to an end in the Class A semifinals, but not after it left everything they had on the field. The Marauders lost by one goal to a tough West Genesee, which took the state crown.
In Class C, Shoreham Wading River (17-3) pulled out a close one in the semifinals against Syracuse CBA (20-2), winning 14-13, and had enough left to win another close game to claim the State championship winning 11-9 against Honeoye Falls Lima (11-12).
Garden City (17-5) cruised through the State semifinals in Class B, claiming a 15-5 victory over Vestel (15-3). The Trojans gained their seventh straight State title with a 13-8 victory over Canandaigua (18-4). The final rankings changed a little at the top as Garden City and Shoreham-Wading River moved up.
