Playoffs are down to the county finals and there have been a few upsets. Northport (11-5) lost to East Islip (13-6), West Babylon (13-4) took a loss to West Islip (12-7) and Manhasset (13-5) lost to Wantagh (13-5). No surprise that St. Anthony’s (16-1) won the New York State Catholic High School championship by defeating Sacred Heart (16-4) for the third time this season.

Farmingdale (16-1), Massapequa (15-2), Bay Shore (17-1) and Ward Melville (17-1) all survived their first rounds of the playoffs. Hauppauge (16-2) is still quietly moving on. This week Manhasset drops out of the rankings, making room for Wantagh to jump in. Garden City (13-5) is still going strong. Cold Spring Harbor (14-2) moves on to the finals while Shoreham Wading River (13-3) is still waiting to play its first playoff game.
