Playoff results have shifted the LILacrosse News top 10 rankings this week as St. Anthony’s downed Chaminade in the Class AAA Long Island/New York State CHSAA championship, knocking the Flyers down from their familiar No. 2 perch to No. 6.

Perennial power and top ranked Garden City has dominated opponents all season long. The Trojans will face No. 8 Wantagh for the Nassau County Class B title tonight at 8 p.m. as part of a tripleheader at Hofstra and continue their rivalry. No. 7 Massapequa plays Syosset in the county’s Class A game at 6 p.m. and in Class C, Cold Spring Harbor takes on Friends Academy (12-5) at 3:30 p.m.

The two top boys’ lacrosse programs in Suffolk, No. 2 West Islip and No. 4 Ward Melville, will clash in the Class A final on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in a tripleheader at Stony Brook. No. 3 Comsewogue will face No.10 Sayville in the Class B final at 8 p.m. It is the first time the Golden Flashes have cracked this top 10 this season. No. 9 Shoreham Wading-River plays Bayport-Blue Point in the Class C final.
