Thursday’s boys’ high school highlights: Ward Melville, Massapequa, Commack gain wins; Manhasset falls to Darien (CT)

Jimmy Coughlan had three goals and one assist, Mike Rastive scored three goals and John Edmond shad two goals and two assists as visiting Ward Melville toppled Sachem North, 14-7, in Division I boys’ lacrosse action Thursday.

Cody Petillo and Shawn Murphy each had two goals for Sachem North (7-2).

Massapequa 14, Syosset 8

Ian Kirby (two assists) and Dan Muller (one assist) scored four goals and Joe Danaher made 17 saves each to lead the Chiefs (7-1).

Andrew Keith (one assist), Jonathan Camposa and John Diaz each had two goals for the Braves (5-4).

Darien (CT) 10, Manhasset 7

The Indians fell to 5-2 after the loss to the 7-0 Blue Wave.

Case Matheis had three goals and four assists for Darien while Bobby Weaver had four goals and an assist and Phil Huffard had 11 saves.

Dino LaValle had three goals for Manhasset and Quinn Moroney dished four assists.

Commack 7, Longwood 6

Anthony Noto had one goal and three assists and Brandon Fleischhacker had his first two goals of the season while Shaun McMahon scored the eventual game winner on a dodge from X for Commack (2-6).
