In the second week of Long Island boys’ rankings at, Garden City squeaks by Chaminade to claim the top spot. St. Anthony’s, No. 2 last week drops to third.

The public school Trojans get the nod based on their undefeated record and a strong 12-11 victory over highly regarded Conestoga (ranked No. 1 in every national poll) of Pennsylvania on Saturday at Haverford school’s Checking for Cancer Invitational.

There was also change in the bottom five as Comsewogue and Wantagh both “Under Consideration” last week vaulted into the No. 5 and No. 8 spots, respectively, while Ward Melville and Shoreham-Wading River dropped out of the top 10.

This week’s top games include No. 5 Comsewogue at Sayville (5-1) on April 18. On April 21, No. 7 Manhasset travels to Bethpage. With a win the Golden Eagles will become a ranked team.
