Manhasset junior attackman Dino LaValle has committed to the admissions process at Brown University.

Dino LaValle log:

Dino LaValle

High School: Manhasset High School

Graduation year: 2013

Position: Attack

College Choice:
Brown University

Club Affiliation: Long Island Sting Black

Camps/Showcases: Jake Reed Fall Camp, Quakerfest, Brine Shootout, Tristate

Academic Honors: National Honor Society, Exemplars, High Honor Roll

Major: Economics

Why did you choose Brown? “When choosing a school I was really looking for a university that offered elite academics in addition to an elite lacrosse program. Brown was one of those few places that had both. When I took my visit in October I got a chance to spend some time with a lot of the players on the team and it was obvious they were a really close group of guys who were extremely dedicated to winning. Also Coach (Lars) Tiffany and his staff were extremely easy to talk to and I knew right away that it was the right fit.”

High School Outlook for 2012 season: “This year’s Manhasset team has a lot of young talent in addition to great senior leadership. It is a really close team and everyone has been putting in a lot of time working in the off season. We have a pretty tough schedule so everyone has spent most days after school in the weight room or on the field getting ready for another state championship season.”

Other comments: “I want to thank (coach) Ken Miller and the Long Island Sting for taking me on as a freshman in high school. Playing with older players helped me improve as a player and athlete. I also want to thank Coach (Bill) Cherry and the coaches at Manhasset for supporting me.”

Note: All potential Ivy League student-athletes must continue through the admission process
