From Press Release

Northeast-10 rivals Adelphi and LeMoyne begin the 2012 season tied for the top spot in the preseason rankings as released by the IWLCA. The two New York schools both advanced to the NCAA semifinals in 2011 and met three times in 2011 with the Panthers winning each time and handing the Dolphins their only three losses of the campaign.

The NE-10 is led by these two schools; four other members of the conference join them in the top-15, with Stonehill also in the top-10 at No. 9. New Haven comes in at No. 11, just edging out Merrimack at No. 12. Bentley is one of three schools tied for the No. 14 ranking.

The PSAC claims five schools in the preseason poll, including three in the top-10. Lock Haven leads the way at No 4 while 2011 semifinalist West Chester sits at No. 7. Mercyhurst rounds out the top-10 at No. 10. Gannon opens up the season at No. 13, just ahead of East Stroudsburg who is tied for the No. 14 position.

The East Coast Conference is the only other conference with multiple schools in the top-15. C. W. Post, who claimed one first-place vote, starts the season at No. 5, just edging conference rival Dowling at No. 6. The Molloy Lions start the season as a ranked team; they are tied for the No. 14 spot.

National runner-up Limestone from Conference Carolinas opens up at No. 3 while Rollins, an independent, starts off in the top-10 at No. 8.

This is the first poll for the IWLCA for the 2012 season; the first regular-season poll will be released Feb. 27.
