Smithtown West sophomore attackman Ryan Keenan has committed to play Division I lacrosse at Penn State University.

Major lacrosse honors: Started 4 games as a freshman and appeared in all games on Varsity, 8 goals 10 assists as a freshman, Inside Lacrosse’s 17 on Sophomore Young Gun List, Jake Reed’s Nike Blue Chip Camp, Tri-State, LI lax Fest, Hofstra Tournament, Champ Camp, Head of the Class Showcase, Rising Sophomore Suffolk vs Nassau Game.

What will you major in/study? Business or Education
Why did you choose PSU? “I chose Penn State because of the excellent coaching staff led by Coach (Jeff) Tambroni, Coach (Peter) Toner, and Coach (Chris) Doctor. I felt welcomed by the players on the team and after my visit I knew it was where I wanted to be. I am very excited to play on the new field in three years and have the chance to use all the new lacrosse facilities at Penn State.”
What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “This year our goal remains the same and that is to win a County Championship, Long Island Championship and State Championship for Class A.”
