What will you major in/study? Business/Economics
Why did you choose Michigan? “Starting with its academic reputation, I was extremely impressed with everything at Michigan and really liked the coaching staff. I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with both Coach (John) Paul and Coach (Judd) Lattimore and just felt great about what they had to say and their plan to build this program into a leading D1 program for student athletes.”
“Having grown up in a small rural N.E. college town, a large school like Michigan in a different part of the country with great on campus social options also interested me. I was very impressed with the facilities and clear commitment of the University to its new lacrosse program. Given my interest in business and economics, The Ross Business School and its facilities were especially appealing along with the academic supports that are in place for student – athletes.”
What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “We have a great core of returning seniors who have committed to several schools. Ryan Brigham (St. Lawrence commit) is a great faceoff specialist. Alex Krass (Richmond commit) and Christian Johansen give us great scoring punch, and our defense is anchored by John Gougelet and our All-State goalie James Washington. I am also excited by our junior and sophomore classes which are deep and many of these players were able to gain some great experience last year. We believe we can challenge for the state championship.”
Additional comments: “Ken Miller, my club coach with LI Sting has given me great advice and the confidence to turn away from some other opportunities and pursue a DI goal. My high school lacrosse and hockey coaches, Jeff Reed, Chris Seibal and Dick Dodds have been constant in their efforts to support me not only as an athlete, but also as a leader, student and teammate. And, of course, my parents and brothers who have all had to sacrifice many weekends together in support of my difficult summer and fall schedules.”
