Men’s recruit: Huntington senior middie Plant commits to Rutgers

Huntington senior midfielder Danny Plant has committed to play Division I lacrosse at Rutgers University.

Major lacrosse honors: All-Division (Suffolk County) 2011, Adidas All-American Classic Team NJ 2011, 3-Year Huntington Varsity, 2012 Huntington Captain

Academic honors: Scholar Athlete Award, Suffolk Zone Award, Honor Roll

What will you major in/study? “Undecided, maybe Business.”

Why did you choose Rutgers? “Rutgers University is a perfect fit for me both on and off of the lacrosse field. The camaraderie of a large University mixed with an impressive coaching staff is sure to be a great experience.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “There’s no reason not to hope for the best this year. After reaching the Suffolk County Finals last year, our team knows what it is like to win and hopefully that will carry into this season.”
