Inside Lacrosse reports two former Long Island high school standouts have transferred

Inside Lacrosse has reported that two former Long Island high school standouts have changed colleges.

Former Virginia attackman Connor English (Manhasset) has been accepted at Cornell and will be eligible to play in the spring, Inside Lacrosse Reported. See story here.

English withdrew from Virginia after the Cavaliers won the 2011 NCAA Division I championship.

English scored 16 goals in two seasons at UVA. English led Manhasset to the 2009 Class C state championship by scoring nine goals in a 16-11 triumph over previously undefeated LaFayette.

Also, Inside Lacrosse reported that Brendan Schroeder (St. Anthony’s) has withdrawn from Navy and will play this spring for Massachusetts. Schroeder was Inside Lacrosse’s No. 49 rising senior in the 2009 Recruiting Issue. Schroeder played at the Naval Academy Prep School last year. (See story.)
