Farmingdale senior defender Kate Gaghan has signed a National letter of Intent to play Division I lacrosse at Quinnipiac University.

Major lacrosse honors: NYS Class A Champions 2009-2010, Scholar Athlete Award 2009-2010-2011, Club National Championship All-Tournament Nomination 2011, All-County Honorable Mention 2011, 2011 Women’s Division National Tournament team.
Academic honors: Member of National Honors Society, American Sign Language Honor Society, Varsity Leaders Club, History Club/Philosophy Club, Ethics Bowl Team. Principal Honor Roll for 2009-2011 and Nassau County Soccer Scholar Athlete 2011. Volunteer work with the Farmingdale Lacrosse Club Clinics grades K-8, coaching for the fall, winter, spring and summer clinics.
“Part of the FAAN association, Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network, I am a teen advocate for those with Celiac Disease like myself. I am also currently collecting donations for the BRIDGE program to promote lacrosse in underprivileged communities.”

Why did you choose school? “Quinnipiac was a great choice for me academically and athletically. Quinnipiac offered the best opportunities for me as a student-athlete to succeed in and out of the classroom. Coach Caro is amazing and I cannot wait to become a member of her team next year.”
What is your HS team’s outlook for next year?“We are looking to win another country championship and get back upstate to win a state championship.”
