Matt Schultz log:

Matt Schultz (Left)

High School: Smithtown West

Graduation Year: 2012

Position: Attack

College Choice: Stony Brook

Club Affiliation: Team Smithtown

Major lacrosse honors: Rising Sophomore and Junior Suffolk Showcase teams. All Division.

Academic honors: Honor Roll, Spanish Honor Society

What will you major in/study? Economics

Why did you choose Stony Brook? “I chose Stony Brook because of the great combination of academics and lacrosse. Both Coach(Jim)Nagle and Coach(Andrew)Watkins made me feel welcome and part of the team. They really showed a clear vision for me in the future and I liked that.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “We return a couple of starters from last year on offense while we lose a couple of starters on defense. Losing in the Suffolk County championship did not sit well with us and and our main goal for next year is to win Suffolk, the LIC, and then States.”

Additional comments: “I’d like to thank both my parents for supporting me throughout the recruiting process and Sean Keenan for helping me as well.”
