Limestone College women’s lacrosse and head coach Scott Tucker have announced the addition of six players for the 2012-2013 season during the NCAA’s early signing period.
Diana Rice: 5-6, Seaford, N.Y. (Seaford HS)
Rice will complete Limestone’s early signing class. She has played three years of lacrosse, four years of field hockey and competed in indoor track for the Vikings. As a junior, she earned All-Conference recognition in lacrosse and All-County Honorable Mention as a senior in field hockey.
The native of Seaford, N.Y. has also gotten it done in the classroom as she has qualified for High Honor Roll as well as Biology, Physical Education and English awards. Rice is also a member of National Honor Society.
Tucker on Rice: “Diana is patient and exudes a sense of calmness between the pipes. She has quick hands and excellent clearing abilities. We look forward to having her in our goalie arsenal.”
Theresa Guiliano: 5-7, Farmingville, N.Y. (Sachem High School East)
A two-year member of the SHSE women’s lacrosse program, Guiliano has steadily built herself into a solid lacrosse player.
An attacker, Guiliano earned All-Honorable Mention and was named Most Improved following her sophomore season. In addition to her high school career, she has also played at the club level with the Suffolk County All-Stars.
Tucker on Guiliano: “Theresa Guiliano brings depth to our attack. Her strength on offense and her commitment to the game will allow her to see success early in her college career.”
Elizabeth Bunn: 5-1, Roswell, Ga. (Milton HS)
Bunn has produced an accomplished high school career as she prepares to enter her senior season. A two-year member of Milton High School’s lacrosse program, she has been named Best Defender, Most Improved and received the Hustle Award at the team level.
As a junior last season, Bunn was widely recognized as one of the State of Georgia’s up-and-coming players as she was named an All-American and All-State Honorable Mention. She was also an All-American and First-Team selection for the Georgia National team that same season. Bunn has been a member of state championship teams in each of the last two seasons.
Tucker on Bunn: “Elizabeth Bunn brings a wealth of defensive knowledge to Limestone. Her ability to read her offensive player and communicate with other players is impeccable. I look forward to working with Elizabeth and watching her develop at the college level.”
Taylor Cline: 5-3, Hagerstown, Md. (Smithsburg HS)
A three-year starter for the Leopards, Cline has been a major offensive threat as she approaches her senior year. After starting for the varsity team as a freshman, the 5-3 junior blossomed as a sophomore as she earned All-County and All-MVAL First-Team selections. She was also a nominee for the Washington County Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year.
Last season, she went from being a nominee to being named Player of the Year and picked up her second All-County and All-MVAL First-Team honors. That season, she also scored the 100th goal of her career through only three seasons. Cline has also competed in cross country and indoor track for the past four years and outdoor track in each of the last two. She has earned All-MVAL First-Team honors in cross country (2009) and Indoor Track (2009-10) and a Second-Team honor in the latter in 2008-09. Cline was also named All-County Second-Team in indoor track.
Tucker on Cline: “Taylor Cline will have a great impact on our program next season. Her vision and athletic ability will bring depth to our midfielders. She will set the bar high for herself at the college level”.
Carleigh Davis: 5-6, Eldersburg, Md. (Liberty HS)
A versatile player, Davis has played field, basketball and lacrosse during her high school career. As a freshman she played each sport at the junior varsity level before moving up to varsity with each as a sophomore. That season she was a member of the Lion’s 2A State Finalist basketball team.
Last season she played lacrosse and field hockey, earning Second-Team All-County and First-Team All-Conference honors. In addition to her high school career, Davis has also played for the Check-Hers Elite lacrosse club team from 2006-11 and US Lacrosse in 2009.
Tucker on Davis: “Carleigh Davis is a great addition to our program. Her intensity and work ethic is strong. We expect that she will contribute greatly as a freshman here at Limestone”.
Sarah Munoz: 5-10, Crofton, Md. (Arundel HS)
A three-year member of the Wildcat’s lacrosse program, Munoz will join the Saints following her senior season in 2012. In addition to lacrosse, she has also been a member of AHS’ field hockey program during her high school career.
Munoz comes from a lacrosse family as both of her siblings have played major Division I lacrosse. Her brother, Matt, played four years of lacrosse for Drexel from 2006-09 as a defensemen while her sister, Lyndsey, is a sophomore goalkeeper for Stanford University.
Tucker on Munoz: “Sarah Munoz has the athleticism to take us to the next level. She works hard on both sides of the field and is a relentless player. I am excited she will be joining us for the 2013 campaign.”
