Report: Starsia suspends Virginia championship star O’Reilly (Southside) for entire 2012 season

Virginia men’s lacrosse coach Dom Starsia has suspended midfielder-attackman Nick O’Reilly – a key to the Cavaliers run to the NCAA crown last year – for the entire 2012 season, according to a report on Cavalier Insider.

According to the report O’Reilly is being disciplined for a “violation of team rules.”

O’Reilly collected had four goals and six assists during his three games played in the NCAA Tournament last spring when the Cavs stunned most observers in a run for the title. In the clinching victory over Maryland in the finals, O’Reilly had a career-high five points (one goal and four assists).

A former Under Armour All-American, he was expected to challenge heavily for a spot on the top attack line.
