Northport junior midfielder John Glancy has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University at Albany.

John Glancy log:

John Glancy

High school: Northport High School

Graduation year: 2013

Position: Midfield

College choice: University at Albany

Club affiliation: Northport High School Varsity

Major lacrosse honors: Suffolk County Rising Sophomore Team, Top 205 @ Towson,

What will you major in/study: Business/Finance

Why did you choose school:
The coaches and the players made me feel like they wanted me to be a part of their program and the university. The feeling was mutual. I intend on pursuing a degree in business. I felt Albany’s business school was the best choice. Along with the lacrosse program, Albany was the perfect fit.

Outlook for your high school team: We are currently ranked no. 5 in our division. We have a high powered, athletic, exciting offense, along with an intense and athletic defense. We hope to surprise a lot of people.

Other comments:
“First and foremost I want to thank Coach (George) Searing for his leadership and guidance on and off the field. I would also like to thank Coach (Brad) McLam, who has been a part of my development since the 6th grade. I also want to thank Coach (Joe) Napolitano, Coach (Ken) Case, Coach (Pete) Magnusun, Coach (Kevin) McLaughlin and Coach (Pete) Pace. With a special thank you to Kyle Dowd, who really helped me take my game to another level. I also would like to thank the Acompora family for the inspiration they have given me and the entire Northport Lacrosse community. Finally, I want to thank my parents who have put a lot of time and effort into this process.”
