Farmingdale senior goalie Frank DeLuca has committed to play Division I lacrosse at Wagner College.

Frank DeLuca log:

Frank DeLuca

DeLuca had previously committed to Ohio State.

High School: Farmingdale High School

Graduation year: 2012

Position: Goalie

College Choice: Wagner College

Club Affiliation: Long Island Stampede

Major lacrosse honors: Starter on Class A state championship team, Adidas underclassmen All-American, #9 ranked goalie in nation from ESPNHS, #73 ranked player overall from ESPNHS. 2010 rising junior All-Nassau selection for Long Island Showcase (Nassau vs. Suffolk), 4 year varsity player.

What will you major in/study? Criminal justice

Why did you choose Wagner? “Wagner gives me the opportunity to succeed both academically due to its prestige, and athletically with Coach (Matt) Poskay and the new staff. The expectations are set high. With a winnable conference I hope to help the team succeed.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “We are a relatively new team due to the loss of many seniors last year, but between the seniors and juniors we have this year the chemistry is already building. With a strong defense that will lead the way this year, the expectations of a county championship are still the main goal as well as to continue the tradition of excellence at Farmingdale.”
