Sayville senior attackman Jake Sichenzia has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Stony Brook University.

Jake Sichenzia log:

Jake Sichenzia

High school:

Graduation year:
Cass of 2012

Position: Attack

College choice: Stony Brook University

Club affiliations: Long Island Lizards 2008, For the Love of the Game 2009-2010, S91 2011

Lacrosse honors: Stony Brook Fall team 2010 as a sophomore on the varsity team, All-Division as a sophomore, Diamond Lax Showcase, Siena Showcase, Colgate Showcase, U-15 National Championship runner up with For The Love of the Game

Academic honors: 3 years Honor Roll in high school

Expected major: Leaning towards Business Major

Why did you choose Stony Brook? “I chose Stony Brook for three main reasons: Its academics, its great lacrosse program, and its location. I really clicked with Coach (Jim) Nagle and I liked his style. The (decision) to (go to) Stony Brook was an easy decision because of Coach Nagle and the location (being close) to home. I am happy with my decision and I am really looking forward to attending Stony Brook next year.”

Outlook for 2012 HS season: “My high school team is looking great next year. We are returning a lot of our seniors. A lot of key parts in our defense are returning with Steven Ferreira and our goalie Pat Fleming. Our entire attack line is returning, which can hopefully jumpstart our offense with the help of our middies. We want to redeem ourselves because of the 9-8 loss to Shoreham in the first round of the playoffs. That game was a huge disappointment even though I gave it my all (4 goals 1 assists).”

Other comments:
“I want to thank my mom and dad who have supported me through all the ups and downs; also, my brother who lets me shoot on him as a goalie, And my great foundation of youth coaches in Sayville.”
