Registration remains open for the 2nd annual Philly Girls Showcase, slated for Saturday, Nov. 5 at Westtown School, PA.
Nearly 200 of the top girls’ lacrosse players from the Philadelphia region and the Northeast spanning 11 states, have committed.
Three of the players registered are from Long Island (see names at bottom of story).
There is still some space for additional players in the Philly Girls Showcase. Any high school lacrosse player with a serious interest in playing college lacrosse can register up until noon on November 2 at ShowcaseLacrosse.com.
“The fact that in two short years the Philly Girls Showcase has firmly established itself as a marquee event during the crowded November recruiting period speaks volumes about the level of high school lacrosse talent in Greater Philadelphia, and to the fact that college coaches want to see girls in this area play,” said Andy Hayes, President of NXT Sports, which is directing the event.
Karin Brower Corbett, head women’s lacrosse coach at the University of Pennsylvania, serves as the college coach event coordinator, and will be in attendance along with members of her staff. Overall the Philly Girls Showcase has received attendance commitments from over 30 college programs, including Penn, Columbia, UNC, Johns Hopkins, Loyola, Hofstra, La Salle, Delaware, UMass, Haverford College and many others.
All the Philly Showcase games will be professionally filmed, and each participant will receive, completely free, an indexed set of their video clips from the Philly Showcase. These video clips can be turned into a highlight reel and shared via an online platform. This video service is provided courtesy of Philly Showcase partner Krossover Technology.
