Women’s commitment: Island Trees senior defense/middie Vilbig heading to OSU

Island Trees senior defense/midfield Bridget Vilbig has commited to play Division I lacrosse at Ohio State University.

Position: Defense/Midfield

College Choice: The Ohio State University

Club Affiliation: Team Elevate

Major lacrosse honors: All County, All County-Honorable Mention,All Conference

Academic honors: National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society

What will you major in/study? Special Education

Why did you chose Ohio State? “When I went there for the first time I knew right away that is where I wanted to go! There was so much school spirit at the games and that is exactly what I was looking for. I come from a really small school so I wanted to go somewhere big.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “We hope to make the playoffs and just work together as a team.”

Additional Comments: “I would like to thank Dave Kotowski because without him I wouldn’t be the lacrosse player I am today. He taught me everything I know and I would be nowhere without him. I would also like to thank my high school coach Jamie Laudage for always knowing how to get me back focused when I am frustrated.”
