Tyler Andreassi log:

Tyler Andreassi (Right)

High School: Sachem North

Graduation Year: 2013

Position: LSM/defense

College Choice: University of Massachusetts

Major lacrosse honors: Nike Blue Chip Camp for rising sophomores and juniors, Top 20 Suffolk team for rising sophomores and rising juniors.

What will you major in/study? Civil Mechanical Engineering

Why did you choose UMass? “UMass is a large D1 school. It has my major and I truly felt welcome by Coach (Greg) Canell and his staff. The team made me feel welcome as well, and having my brother there made it even better. It was amazing playing with him my sophomore and junior year for football and lax and I will be playing with him side by side again come 2013 when I’m up at UMass.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “Our team outlook for this year is to take it one game at a time and just to work hard to be the best that we can be.”

Additional comments: “I thank my two brothers for pushing me as hard as they have to be the best that I can be. Thanks to my Dad who has always been there for me, taking me everywhere, paying for camps to go to and just everything. My Mom has always been there if I forgot something at home before a game. I’d call her and she’s stop what she was doing and bring it up. My Gramma and Grampa, I wish everybody had a Gramma and Grampa so nice and caring. They are always there for me no matter what. Before my Grampa passed away he was at everything little thing I did. If it was practice or a game he was there cheering me on and he is still there in my heart. Finally, thanks to my sister, going to games when she didn’t want to, LOL.”
