Men’s commitment: Cold Spring Harbor senior midfielder/attackman Simonetti answers calling, will play and serve at Navy

Cold Spring Harbor senior midfielder/attackman Daniel Simonetti has committed to play Division I lacrosse at the United States Naval Academy.

Club Affiliation: LI Express/ Gotskillz

Major lacrosse honors: 2x Jake Reid Nike Bluechip, LI Under Armour team, ESPN Rise “Warrior 40” NY regional MVP. “Warrior 40” athlete. Inside Lacrosse top 50 2012 recruits #45. Member of the world renowned Gotskillz club team.

Academic honors, service projects: Honor roll student, Special Olympics volunteer

What will you major in/study? Quantitative Economics

Why did you choose Navy? “Most importantly I have always felt a strong calling for military service. The Naval Academy is quite arguably the best and most prestigious academic institution in the world. That along with a rich winning lacrosse tradition made my decision easy.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “Win a state title. Bring the ruckus.”
