Hauppauge senior defender Stephanie Peragallo has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Notre Dame.

Graduation Year: 2012

Position: Defense

College Choice: University of Notre Dame

Club Affiliation: Long Island Yellow Jackets

Major Lacrosse Honors: All County, All American, Under Armour All American, All American Disney Showcase, MVP at Northwestern Team camp

Academic Honors:
High Honor Roll consistently throughout high school, Class president

What will you major in/study: Pre-med or health care management

Why did you choose Notre Dame? “I chose the University of Notre Dame because not only is it a competitive D1 lacrosse program, but it offers an amazing education. I realized that I will not be playing lacrosse my entire life, so I needed to put myself in the best position possible to get a good education. I also fell in love with the campus and the people. I could easily see myself living there and fitting in with everyone around me. I didn’t feel the same connection with any other school that I did with Notre Dame.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “After being undefeated and winning counties last year and only losing 3 seniors at the end of the season, we are hoping to keep our positive momentum going. The majority of our team will be returning players who are committed to D1 or DII schools for lacrosse, so not only do we want to prepare for college, but we also want to make the most of our last season together. We are hoping to win counties again and have another shot at the Long Island championship.”
