Sacred Heart’s senior attack/midfield Ashley Ruchalski has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Siena College.

Ashley Ruchalski log:

Ashley Ruchalski (Left)

High School: Sacred Heart Academy

Graduation Year: 2012

Position: attack/midfield

College Choice: Siena

Club Affiliation: Team Elevate

Academic honors: National Honor Society, Second Honor

What will you major in/study? “I’m not sure what I will major in yet but probably Business/Marketing.”

Why did you choose Siena? “I was looking for a small school that wasn’t in the city. When I visited for lacrosse, I right away loved the coach and liked the girls on the team and felt I would fit in well there.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “For the 2012 season our team should be pretty strong. We have a lot of girls playing D1 lacrosse at UPenn, UMass, Fairfield, Hofstra and Marquette. This past season we really learned how to play together as a team which allowed us to step up our game. Also we got to play teams in Chicago which allowed us to play better competition and get our rankings up nationally, which hopefully we get to do again this season!”

Additional Comments: “I’d like to thank my club coach, Dave Kotowski for really teaching me everything I needed to know about the recruiting process and always pushing me and encouraging me to be my best. Also, I’d like to thank my High School coaches, Morgan Molinari and Shannon Ledwith for helping me grow as a player since freshman year!”
