Sean Doyle

Major lacrosse honors: HM All- County, Jake Reed Blue Chip Sophomore and Junior year, Inside Lacrosse Rising Sophomore Watch list

Academic honors: Academic All-Conference, Honor Roll

What will you major in/study? Undecided; maybe business

Why did you choose Bucknell? “In the end, I wanted a great school. Bucknell is an outstanding university. I also needed to see myself fit with the program. During my visits the coaching staff would invite me into the huddle and say very complimentary things about me to the entire team. I quickly felt like I was part of the family. I also liked the disposition of coaches (Frank) Fedorjaka and Coach (Joe) Conner. They instruct with civility and encourage their players. For me, it was the perfect match.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “My high school team is going to begin the season with very high expectations as it does every year. After a tough loss in the Long Island Championship our goal is to get back there next year, be the winning team and hopefully make it to the state tournament. We usually put together a very solid team year in and year out. We are a small school and our coaching staff maximizes the skills that we have available as a team to succeed. Coach (Dennis) Bonn is a tough coach but every year we put together a winning team on the field because of his ability to recognize each players individual strengths. Many times we begin the season with a lot of underclassman, but our goal every year is the same.”

Additional comments: “This year should be fun as I hope to have my younger brother William join me on the varsity as a goalie at Cold Spring Harbor. It would be the first time we have ever been on the same team.”

“I think the perfect fit for me is Bucknell, I believe in the coaching staff and they have high expectations for me to take the program to the next level. I quietly do my job, minimize mistakes, manage the field from behind and do what is asked of me. I have been associated with winning programs year in and year out. I am excited about college ball and the same time I look forward to enjoying my senior year at Cold Spring Harbor and helping the team get as far we can in the playoffs.”
