Former Stony Brook men’s lacrosse standout Kevin Crowley ’11 was chosen first overall by the Philadelphia Wings in the 2011 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft on Wednesday. Crowley is the first player ever to be drafted first overall in the NLL and Major League Lacrosse.

Jordan McBride ’11, the Seawolves’ all-time leader in goals with 175, was chosen 13th overall by the Colorado Mammouth.

“Kevin is going to be a star in the NLL on the floor, and we know he will represent the values of our Wings organization in the community,” said Wings General Manager and Head Coach Johnny Mouradian on the Wings website. “We really like his commitment to develop his game at the highest level. Our coaching staff and players look forward to seeing him on the floor.”

Crowley, one of three players to earn All-America East first-team honors in all four years, finished his illustrious career with 131 goals and 101 assists. The 2010 Enners Award winner as the USILA’s Most Outstanding Division I Player, Crowley is Stony Brook’s all-time leader in points, and one of just 40 players to record 100 or more goals and assists in NCAA history.

McBride, who scored at least 40 goals in each of his four seasons, ranks 10th all-time in Division I history in goals. He broke out onto the scene in just his second career game, scoring 10 goals at Delaware, a school record.
