Manhasset High School senior midfielder Chris Zanetis has made a verbal commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Washington and Lee.

Major Lacrosse honors: Academic All-Conference, Honorable mentioned All-County, Scholar-Athlete Award, New York State Class C Champ 2009-2010, All-star team at LT300, Brine Shootout, Elite 180.
Academic honors: Member of the National Honor Society, Member of the Spanish Honor Society, Scholar Athlete Award in both lacrosse and soccer, Captain of the varsity soccer team, High Honor roll in my 3 years of high school so far, “Be Like Rachel Club” (A club associated with helping the community how Rachel Scott – who died in the Columbine shooting – would’ve wanted to do), Student Government, Participant of the Al Karfus Math Fair, Participant of the National Spanish Honor Exam, Active Volunteer at St. Francis Hospital- The Heart Center, Planning a poverty mission abroad this February.
What will you major in/study? A major in business and a minor in psychology
Why did you choose Washington and Lee? “Washington and Lee University will challenge me both academically and athletically. I will have the opportunity to play solid competitive D-III lacrosse and focus on academics as well. Washington and Lee’s notable business program also factored into my decision as well as its high academic rating.”
What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “We are going to be a young team but we are looking forward to a state final game next year. We understand that it’s going to take a lot of dedication and hard work but we have trust in our system and believe in our coaching staff. “
