Women’s commitment: Garden City senior goalie McDonald commits to Georgetown

Garden City senior goalie Megan McDonald has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Georgetown University.

Major Lacrosse Honors: Women’s National Schoolgirls Tournament Long Island Metro 1 2010 & 2011, Women’s National Schoolgirls Tournament Champions 2010, All Galaxy 2009 & 2010, New York Class B State Champions 2010 & 2011

Academic Honors: National Honor Society, Principal’s List, German Honor Society

What will you major in/study? Business

Why did you choose Georgetown? “I chose Georgetown because it offered everything I ever wanted in a University. It has great academics and a phenomenal lacrosse team and coaching staff.”

Other info: Garden City won its sixth straight Class B state championship with a 12-6 victory over Brighton and finished 21-0 and ranked No. 1 in the nation by MaxPreps and No. 2 in the nation by ESPN RISE and Lacrosse Magazine.

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “I hope that we can win our 7th straight NYS Class B Championship.”
